§ 3.7. Elective officers and terms of office.

There shall be a city council of seven (7) members; four (4) shall be elected by the qualified voters of the city at large, and one (1) shall be elected by the qualified voters of each of the three (3) wards. Beginning with the general election commencing in the year 2013, the four (4) councilmen elected at large shall serve for a period of two (2) years beginning at the first regular meeting of the city council following their election. The three (3) councilmen elected from each of the three (3) wards shall serve for a period of four (4) years, beginning at the first regular meeting of the city council following their election. Thereafter, all councilmen shall be elected to four (4) year, staggered terms, beginning at the first regular meeting of the city council following their election.
